A Sundial was already there in 1666. One could still see it during the first half of the 20th Century. Nobody knows when it disappeared.
This sundial was offered in 1991 by the Prince Vital I (Vitalus Primus) and his adjudants Marc & Roger from the carnaval association 'De kwaartjeslummels'
The sundial is made for a South orientation, but it is oriented 10° more to the West.
The reason why Prince Vital I gave the sundial: ''During 10 years we have tried in vain to determine the South on June, 21, but the Sun did never shine on that day''. This is purely a carnaval declaration as anyone knows you can determine the South on any day of the year.
