The extremity of the imaginary style is actually an cicle opening in the window above the south intrance. The meridian line is a copper stripe in the marble ground of the church.
This is one of the six still remaining meridian lines of Adolphe Quetelet, built in order to get a reliable mean hour reading of the schedules when the Belgian railways began to run.
