Description
Model 36
Here is a sundial that looks like model 33, but designed for clock time. The axis of the cylinder is parallel to the Earth' one. The cylinder is truncated horizontally at the top. There is a cone inside which top coincides with the centre of the elliptical section of the cylinder.
There are three mandatory updates:
a. the addition of a winter (+1) and summer (+2) time
b. the time difference derived from the longitude delta of e.g. Kortrijk (3,2667° E.L.) related to Greenwich. This difference is of 13 minutes and 4 seconds.
c. the equation of time (see model 7). The sundial was divided into two parts, one for winter and spring, the second one for summer and autumn. The equation of time curve is therefore separated in two parts.
